Haunted Murree: A True Tale of Witches on the Mountains
The Terrifying Witches of Murree: A True Story of Paranormal Encounters
Here I am with another true story. I am Shehzana, and today I will share with you a true and terrifying incident from the mountains of Murree. If you like it, please like, share, and comment.
We went to Murree for a trip from Karachi. It was winter, and Murree was freezing cold. We were staying at a hotel there. The beautiful scenery of Murree and the sight of the mountains made us very happy. One day, our whole family went out exploring and came across some mountain people who lived in the hills. We requested them to show us their homes and how they lived. They told us that living in the mountains isn’t easy. They advised that whenever we visit, we should come during daylight and leave before dark—for our own safety. My father asked them the reason for this, and they told us something astonishing.
The mountain people explained that the winter season is highly favored by jinns and witches, and the mountains are filled with countless jinns and witches—far beyond our imagination. My father laughed and said:
My dear friend, there’s no such thing; it’s merely a figment of your imagination.
In response, the mountain people shared a story with us.
They said that a few years ago, during winter, some tourists came who didn’t know that visiting the mountains after sunset was prohibited. Four friends mistakenly ventured into the mountains. Ahead, they encountered a woman who led them to the top of the mountains. Afterward, their screams were heard, and they fell from the top of the mountains.
In our area, during December, after darkness falls, a woman appears. She is no ordinary being; she is a creature from the otherworld.
She knocks on our doors and calls us by name. She even takes on the appearance of our relatives. If anyone opens the gate for her, the entire family is found dead the next day. There have been so many such incidents that no one opens the gate anymore. Afterward, the witch cries loudly and then climbs to the top of the mountain, where she wails in a horrifying voice, echoing across the mountains. This always happens during December or when it rains. She often comes in human form, and whoever gets deceived by her ends up being taken to the mountain top. After that, there’s no trace of that person.
Hearing this story sent chills down our spines, and we didn’t visit any mountain homes while we were there.
We were also told by others that on the deserted roads of Murree during the rain, women are often seen signaling vehicles to stop. However, everyone here knows that those women are not human but witches, and rain and winter are their favorite seasons.
