Haunted Ground: The Curse That Claims Lives of Those Who Enter
This story is about four school friends from Lahore: Haris, Junaid, Yasir, and Adnan, who were in ninth grade. Their ages were between fourteen and fifteen years. Between their school and homes, there was a field that was fine during the day but had something strange about it at night that scared everyone. No one dared to go into the field at night.
These four friends' families had recently moved to the area and knew nothing about the field. People who had been living there for 10-15 years knew all about it and most of them were scared to talk about the field.
These four friends were very mischievous. One day, they heard some people talking about the field, saying that at night, they often heard the sound of someone crying from the field. Many people had heard and seen a child crying there. Hearing this, Yasir said that these people spread false news, nothing like that happens, and there are no such things as ghosts, it's all just imagination. The other three friends agreed with Yasir, nodding their heads and said that one night they would go to the field and show everyone that ghosts don’t exist. They all shook hands on this and went to their respective homes.
The next day after school, they eagerly waited for nightfall so they could go to the field and see if there was any ghost. As soon as it was night, the four friends went to the field. The field was completely dark, with only the light of the moon, and in the moonlight, the silent field looked very scary.
They roamed around the field for quite a while but didn't see anything. Then they sat down at one spot, and Yasir said, "See, there’s nothing here, let’s go home." As soon as they started to leave the field, all the gates of the field disappeared and there was no way out, and the walls of the field became so tall that it was impossible for them to climb over.
Junaid said, "What happened? There are no doors here, and how did the walls get so high?" Yasir said, "Something is wrong here, we need to get out." They started running around, looking for a way out, but they couldn't find one. Then they gathered at one place and started shouting, "Help us, get us out of here!" but there was no one to hear them.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of someone crying behind them. They turned around and saw a boy of their age sitting and crying. The four friends started to get scared, and the boy's crying sound gradually got louder until it echoed throughout the field. They approached the boy and asked, "Who are you and why are you crying?" When the boy lifted his head, they screamed. The boy was completely burnt and started laughing in a terrifying voice. Seeing this, the four friends ran in fear.
The crying boy started laughing while crying, and his laughter turned into a horrifying scream that pierced the ears of the four friends. When they looked around, they saw many burnt corpses, all saying the same thing, "Why did you burn us? Why did you kill us?" Seeing this, the four friends died on the spot from heart attacks.
The next day, their families found their bodies lying in the field. Someone mentioned that the field was haunted. A few years ago, there was a poor family’s hut there. One night, someone set fire to their hut, and they all died burning. Since then, strange incidents have occurred in the field, and many people have heard crying sounds there. Many also claim to have seen an elderly person and a child.
